Since 1960
In 1960, Josef Lemoniadis opened a restaurant in front of the sea, with the aim to host all the visitors of Mount Athos and the few residents of the area.
His principle was to use always fresh fish of the fishermen in the village and pure vegetable which was selected by him. The rule of course was for all the ingredients to be fresh and of the best quality.
"From then on, things have changed — and the only thing that remained unaltered is the traditional and fine cuisine, having as a base the best ingredients that are cooked with the traditional way."
It is not accidental the fact that after half a century, Restaurant Lemoniadis dominates at the beach of Ouranoupolis and attracts Greek and foreign visitors, preserving the culture and tradition of another but still unique period.
